So, you think artists jumping into country music is a brand-new thing? Guess what? The Beatles were doing it way back in the day, like over 60 years ago!
Back in '65, the Fab Four covered Buck Owens' smash hit "Act Naturally". It landed on their Help! album, which was also the soundtrack to their super popular movie. How cool is that?
Now, Buck originally dropped "Act Naturally" in '63, and it shot straight to the top of the country charts. Seriously, this song helped make Buck one of the biggest country stars of the whole decade!
But here's a fun fact: when The Beatles did their version, Ringo Starr took the lead. It was only the fifth time he'd sung lead on a Beatles song at that point.
And get this – in 1989, Ringo and Buck teamed up for a duet version of "Act Naturally". Talk about things coming full circle!
